The start for this multi-pieced picture was a photograph I took on atrip to South Africa.  I learned the piecing technique from artist Sue Benner, who also taught me to forage for quilt materials in unlikely places – thrift shops, yard sales, and my own closet.  Because my fabric “painting” will never be washed, they are not limited to traditional cotton quilt fabrics.
